About Julie

Whilst working full-time for a large mail order catalogue company in Manchester, interrupted sleep and recurring general anxiety were just part of my everyday life. Even though I was active with various sporting hobbies like ice-skating, horse-riding and hill walking I still felt my overall health was at an all time low. Purely by chance I read an article promoting the benefits of yoga – this changed my life!

I joined the Manchester and District Institute of Iyengar Yoga (MDIIY) in Dukinfield and have been attending classes ever since and that was over fourteen years ago! I encouraged my mum and many years later after much cajoling (nagging) my husband and even my dad have felt the benefits of regular yoga practice.

My own practice dramatically improved my overall health and peace of mind; life was good….then I was made redundant!

Without the yoga I firmly believe I would not have got through this traumatic time. I was able to revaluate my life. When I was accepted on the two year Iyengar teacher training course in September 2005 it felt like a very positive move.

As a qualified teacher I enjoy meeting new people and feel great satisfaction when I see the difference yoga practice makes to my students. Everyday I appreciate the difference yoga has made to this new chapter in my life and now I look forward to a healthy happy future.

If you’d like to try out yoga too, come along to one of my classes!
